Emerge-N-See Art is on the road!!  After much delay due to massive flood damage to my home and studio in 04, the Mobile Visionary Unit (MoVu') Art Ambulance is rolling, taking in its first three art car parades....West Palm Beach and Houston in May, and the Kentucky Art Car Parade in Louisville Aug 5th. The Houston event was amazing....the world's oldest and largest event of its kind.... Emerge-N-See won the Participant's Choice Award, awarded by ballot of participating artists....a very cool homemade trophy and $1500 cash! This was a total surprise, both deeply humbling and deeply gratifying, given this was our first parade and it had been two tough years of preparation. In keeping with the medical/scientific/spiritual theme of the ambulance, I have begun an exciting new series of paintings called "Prescriptions". Primarily 2D, but using found objects to add both physical and spiritual depth, these pieces point the way, through abstraction, into the powerful world of Innergonia, the "Heaven within", where the healer/priest/scientist/artist rises up inside us, birthing new vision for healing ourselves, our communities, our world.       BURNING MAN.... After five years of getting about two months away, then realizing what a huge undertaking it is to get to Black Rock City in any form, not to mention a measure of artful style......false starts.....we are going this year, the ambulance and I, and will be staking an 8x12ft canvas to the desert floor and encouraging, with appropriate battery-operated megaphone, passersby to toss beanbags onto the painting to garner points and win valuable prizes. I will be joining one of the many theme camps, PlayaQ, a food-based camp. PlayaQ's gift to the community will be to stage three significant "raids" on other camps, where we will shower them wth gormet food, beverages, dancers, music, massages, etc, etc, then disappear after 30min, leaving them stunned, but loved and satiated....yay! Burning Man is the most creative event on planet Earth, and through its principles centered around creativity, celebration, responsibility, and love, affects many, many lives around the world in ways that are positive and healing for both individuals and communities. Well....yes.....that was pretty awesome.....beyond all expecations.....i designed a 9x12ft canvas painting that had numeric values assigned to the various parts...we staked it down to the desert and let passersby toss beanbags onto it to win an assortment of cool prizes....the "Be There Then, Here and Now" sideshow game has made many appearances since then, most recently at the amazing American Visionary Art Museum in Baltimore.....more sideshow games to come..... The ambulance won another award in spring 07 at the 20th annual Houston Art Car Parade, the granddaddy of all artcar parades....1st place in the painted car division.....a humbling surprise...yay! Working hard now to prepare my home and studio in Candler, NC for a series of fun creativity workshops i will call "Creative Immersions".....a culmination of my life's work so far, presenting the best work in the field of expanding creativity in a way fun, grassroots style that will be accessible and effective for anyone, complete non-artist to professional.....this 3day program will include meals, lodging, and art to go......
